Rita Relief

Our ward has a Rita Relief.  A dear friend showed up on my porch as Rita wearing the famous red cape with her arms full of a deliciously healthy looking lunch and then took Avannie for the entire afternoon so that I could nap and recuperate as I try to battle out this horrendous cold/sinus infection.  It worked!  I haven't felt this good in 5 weeks!  Thanks Darby for the yummy lunch and letting me sleep for several hours!

First BIG Snow Day

Thanks to Mother Nature for sending the snow storms on Tuesday/Wednesday this year because Amy has been able to help us shovel all the snow!  Thanks Meems, you're one awesome snow thrower.

Avannie supervising Dad and Aunt Amy with the shoveling.  By this point they have already been out for an hour and a half with only half the driveway done.  We shoveled twice more that same day.

Mischief Maker or Darling Entertainer?

After I had the table set for a delicious dinner, Avannie found the butter and smeared it all over Dad's plate and herself.

Next day she turns into the darling little entertainer by crawling into the dryer!

See Science Museum

In November 2011, we went on a day-cation to Manchester.  We needed a break from the normal grind of things so we were able to get free tickets from the library to go to the museum.  It was a fun couple of hours!
Dad had the greatest fun of the whole day.

I don't know who is having more fun looking at the turtles, dad or Avannie?

The computer was definitely Avannie's favorite.

Bubble time!

Just like Mom

Guilty:  I love to eat a scoop of peanut butter with a half a scoop of jam - straight from the jars.  I thought I did this sneakingly where Avannie never noticed.  Well, kids learn best by example.

Children of Eden

Music can lift your spirits so fast!  I am listening to the soundtrack to Children of Eden and just love it.  (It's written by the same guy who wrote Wicked - so its excellent.)  I can't wait to go see it in April!

Brand new day, and its great.  I am starting to feel much better!  Still not wanting to take down my Christmas decorations or sweep my floor, but I am feeling just like the weather - full of sunshine.

Here's an update about Avannie, written by my sister:
Last night I we were playing with her new little toy mat of animals, matching the animal figureines to the letter and picture, and she was doing it!  I would hold up the tiger and say "tiger" and she would look at all the little pictures, find the 'T' with the tiger imagine and put the figure on the letter.  It was so fun.  And as I was doing the dishes, she pulled out the broom and handed it to me like I was supposed to sweep after I do the dishes.  It was so funny.

She is also is becoming so intrigued with how things work.  It is so fun to watch her.  She just broke a crayon and is now trying to fit it back together.

Joseph has started, what he has been told, the hardest class of his MBA - Global Economics.  I am proud of him for doing this.  He has a lot going on right now and he is doing great balancing everything - especially trying to keep a pregnant wife in good spirits.
