Three days before the Boston Marathon, we decide to go on a family adventure. Destination: Boston Public Library. I've heard incredible things about this place and Joseph had the day off so why not? I had no idea that the finish line to the marathon was right outside the doors to the library. It was pretty cool to cross the famous finish line. And security was everywhere!
While Kemper enjoyed the introduction of the library's tour, Joseph took all the girls to look around the outside. They (all including Dad) didn't care too much for the history behind the architecture. :)
Found: the children's room!
And in the back halls of the 3rd floor, past all the art books, you will find the coolest marinette puppet display.
And to the end the day, we had a picnic at the temple. While Kemper nursed Kate in the car, Joseph took the girls to eat. He had to come back for something, and I asked him, "So what are you talking about out there?" He thought for a second, shrugged, and replied, "Flowers. The temple. Heavenly Father and Jesus. The good stuff." Awe!!! It was perfect!
Later that night, I asked Avannie what her favorite part of the whole day was as we were able to see some pretty cool things, and she said, "The temple." "Even though it was really cold and windy?" "Yep, its my favorite."
How grateful I am that my children recognize a special spirit while at the Lord's house. This is the place where families are sealed forever! and children can sense that just by walking around the outside. Already, Avannie can't wait until she is twelve and can have her own temple recommend to enter the doors. And Joseph and I will be right there with her!
