Mission POSSible - catching a taxi

Have you ever had the feeling of GREAT accomplishment? I mean doing something that defys everything? Well, I have had my moment. I was on my way out the door to go teach English when Joseph called in a panic and said, "I need my passport right now. Get a taxi."

"Joseph, I am going teaching....(really trying to say, I am scared to death to get a taxi by myself - I could be kidnapped!)"

"Can't you reschedule your class? I really need my passport. Please, get a taxi."

Pause. I still don't speak portuguese and he just asked me to get taxi. AHHH! I have only done the bus and metro. So this was a bit extreme. So being the brave wife that I am, I asked him to tell me how to say which airport - airoporto do mesh ico do MOE. I don't think that is how it is spelled at all, but that is how to say it. And can you believe that I did it!!! Wow. Not bad.

And I even tried to have conversations with the driver. He is a gow-usho (from the south), separated from his wife, and has 4 sons, no daughters (poor guy). And I think I told him that I have lived here for 2nd (two) months - I used the wrong word. And that we wanted 14 brazilian filios (children). I am still having troubles with numbers. oopps. But I did tell him that Eu gosto de Rio de Janeiro muinto (I really like Rio de Janeiro) and several other things that came out right.

Overall, mission POSSible - catching a brazilian taxi without too much help from Joseph.
