Culture Shock and Blessings

Well, today was my first day of real culture shock. I woke up on the wrong side of the bed. Joseph had split sugar last night while eating a Ma-yown (not right spelling, but thats how it's spelled), I think it is a papaya in english, but I am not sure. Well, anyway, he left sugar out over night and the ants found it. Our kitchen was attached! And second, we got a fruit fly problem overnight as well. But they aren't fruit flys, they are the same size but they come from leaving water out. so i am paranoid about water spots standing still - on the countertops and the sink, etc. So anyway, I just wasn't in a good mood. I didn't want to go out side or anything. So as soon as Joseph left for work, I went back to bed. Thankfully I found the right side of the bed and got up there. I went running, shopping (couldn't find half the stuff I went for: ant traps and bleach) and now I feel great.

Two nights ago, we were invited to FHE at Mirka and Vinicius home. they made us a fabulous Brazilian meal and had the most delicious desserts/treats. (I really have to get the recipes.) Mirka (the wife) taught the lesson. It was about one of the ancient prophets - i forgot who - being called to do this enourmous work for the Lord. And he said that was not the one for the job because he could not speak very well. When Mirka said these thing, I was hit by the spirit because this was me - I can't speak this language. But then Mirka gave the scripture Ether 12:27 about how the Lord give us weakness so that we may become humble. and if we turn to the Lord, He will make these weaknesses become strong. Holy smokes, Mirka listened to the spirit because she taught the lesson that was just for me. I know that the Lord works through people to answer our prayers; He did that night. I am so thankful for this gospel because of the blessing we recieve daily.
