This is my new favorite team in the world - only because of the fans. They are RELIGIOUS about their team. We took lots of pictures, so as soon as I have them from my friend, I will post them. But until then, you will have to look at the sheild.
This last Wednesday, we went to a futbol game with one of Joseph's old mission companions and his wife- wow - is all I can say. It is quite the feeling to be in a stadium that holds 90,000 people (the LDS Confrence Center holds 21,000). Wow, I have never seen a sport that has become a religion. The people were so emotionally attached to the game that it was funny! I was told that I was lucky that I couldn't understand the language because of all the swearing when a goal was missed. Flamengo (our team) lost to a team from Mexico and you would have thought it was the end of the world. But it was ablsolutely awesome to see THOUSANDs of people waving their enormous flags and chanting/clapping in rhythm as they sang the "fight song". It was so fun!
